About Us

Illinois has been developing some of the best players in the nation over the last 10 years. In that time, the level of play, the level of coaching and the numbers of players and coaches has increased tremendously.

For years now, Illinois coaches have been concerned about a few very important issues:

  • The national association does not provide educational opportunities close enough for the majority of coaches to benefit
  • With the development of clubs and the increased number of Directors of Coaching, there is a need to educate and develop younger coaches within the club structure
  • As coaching soccer becomes a full time job for many, there is a need for benefits not afforded to individuals.

As the quality of soccer progresses in the state of Illinois, and the soccer community continues to grow, it is necessary for the coaches of Illinois to progress as well. By creating minimum standards of which we require of ourselves and peers, by creating coaching curriculums that will help develop our players; we can lead the nation in the development of quality coaches and soccer players.

Purpose

  • Unite the Illinois coaching community
  • Provide benefits to members that they can not receive else where
  • Draw national attention so as to bring educational opportunities to Illinois

 Mission

  • To provide various platforms for communication, education and soccer dialogue within the Illinois Soccer Coaching Community for the betterment of soccer.

 Vision

  • Illinois has produced some of the best soccer players in the nation over the last 5 years, consistently sending more players to prominent College programs, National team Residency Programs, International Clubs and the MLS, yet we cannot get the USYSA to bring coaching programs to our state. If Illinois coaches can take a unified approach to licensing, coaching etiquette and minimum standards of coaching, we will continue to grow as coaches and receive the educational benefits we have been lacking up to this point
